National Steel Car is proud to call Hamilton, Ontario, our home. We’re committed to building a community, sponsoring Theatre Aquarius, the Hamilton Opera, the United Way, Salvation Army and numerous other local charities. Thousands of employees, past and present participate in our major food drive to support local food banks.

But our strongest contribution to our community is thousands of well-paying jobs that directly help southern Ontario families. Through strong leadership and team-building, and through considerable human and capital investments, our company expanded manufacturing capacity from 3,500 cars per year in 1994, to 12,000 cars by 1999. Employment over the same period grew from approximately 600 to almost 3,000. Today, thanks to its relentless pursuit of excellence, National Steel Car manufactures thousands of new railroad freight cars each year, built by hard-working and dedicated employees.
